Whakarewarewa Forest, also known as The Redwoods, is a mecca for mountain bikers. With over 150 kilometers of continually evolving trails, Rotorua is renowned as a premier riding destination. The forest offers master-crafted trails with varying topography, unbeatable riding surfaces, and fantastic scenery.

There are trails here that suit everyone from beginners, young children and family groups to experts seeking extreme action.

There are several entrance points to the forest, however Te Pūtake o Tawa entrance is the newest one and is a short drive from the city on the way to the Blue Lakes.

The Blue Lake is a few minutes away for a refreshing swim at the end of the day.

The 'Tawa' park is the easiest place to access shuttle services in the forest.
